Youth Spotlight

Ashley Forman

July 2005 - This month our Youth Spotlight shines on middle school student Ashley Forman in Florida. Ashley has been involved with Youth Crime Watch for three years and has demonstrated real leadership qualities in that time. Recognized as "safety patrol of the year," she once turned in a student who brought a pocketknife to school.

Ashley is active in her school and community in a variety of capacities. She volunteers for the Ronald McDonald House, helps at the soup kitchen and turns out with the Salvation Army at the holidays to ring bells. At school she is also a member of SADD, cadets, and her student government. Her interests at school include jazz band, the year book, science team, and the environmental club. She is generous with her time and her talents, volunteering regularly at a local elementary school and plans to spend this summer lending a hand at a vacation bible school helping younger children with arts and crafts. Clearly Ashley is not someone to sit on the sidelines.

In the words of her advisor Ashley is "a strong youth who is dedicated, caring, and always willing to help others in need. Ashley is a great roll model for both children and adults."

Thank you, Ashley!
