Youth Spotlight

Tamika Johnson

May 2005 - This month our Youth Spotlight shines on Tamika Johnson. Tamika has been involved with Youth Crime Watch for three years now. She has been to each conference Crime Watch has put on since 2003 and has taken a leading role in the Youth Crime Watch at her school in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

Tamika has pledged to do whatever it takes to make her school stronger through her crime watch group. Not only does she have the leaderships skills necessary, she helps bring out leadership qualities in everyone. She understands that it is youth energy that will make a difference in our communities, young people taking ownership of their own situations.

In Tamika we see a strong force for the future of youth-led crime prevention. As she pursues her goals and matures in her community, we hope that she will continue to forge positive alliances between youth and adults to break down generational barriers and make a safer world for all of us.

Thank you, Tamika!
