Stacey-Ann Robinson – Jamaica
March 2007 - Stacey-Ann Robinson first heard of the Youth Crime Watch philosophy during her tenure as Student Council President last year. Convinced that her school needed a program to help students and teachers stand together against crime, she met with her principal and was selected to attend YCW leadership training in Miami along with other youth from Jamaica, including two schoolmates.
Since that time, Stacey-Ann has been a determined and vigilant member of her Youth Crime Watch. She works to get other students involved in prevention activities, acts as recording secretary at meetings, and hopes to help bring crime watch to high schools across Jamaica and is especially dedicated to bringing the program to inner-city schools. She is a role model to other students. She works with zeal towards implementation of the nine YCW components.
Stacey-Ann is proud to have recently succeeded in passing her academic exams. Among future plans, she hopes to bring YCW to two nearby university campuses.
Good luck, Stacey-Ann! Keep up the good work. We are proud to call you one of our own!
Youth Crime Watch is active in 12 Jamaica high schools, including Stacey-Ann's. With youth like this, we are confident that the number will continue to grow.
