Staff: The YCWA Team

Youth Crime Watch of America is very lucky to have a wonderful and talented staff of dedicated individuals serving in its national office. Feel free to contact us when you need help with your Youth Crime Watch program. We are there for you!

Chris DiCarlo Christopher DiCarlo, CEO, has held senior management positions in both the private and nonprofit sectors. As a Vice President at Sanwa Bank, Mr. DiCarlo oversaw a $2 billion loan portfolio consisting primarily of Fortune 500 clients. His nonprofit experience includes lead roles in operations, resource development and executive management. A graduate of the United Way of America management training program, Chris has served at four local United Ways, including most recently as a President & CEO in South Carolina. He has significant international experience, including extended stays in Europe, Asia and South America. On April 1, 2008, DiCarlo became Chief Executive Officer of Youth Crime Watch of America and also holds that position for Youth Crime Watch of Florida. Chris holds a Bachelors Degree in History from Dartmouth College and has MBA and MPP degrees from the University of Chicago.
Terry Allen Jones

Terry Allen Jones, Director of Training and Technical Assistence

Youth trainer and professional actor Terry Allen Jones left a promising career as a marketing executive with the Xerox Corporation to pursue his real loves in life, acting and youth development. Terry uses his talents to infuse the performing arts as a mechanism for teaching retainable lessons. He has presented over 6,000 workshops nationwide in conflict resolution, listening projects, parent education, drug and alcohol prevention, and related subjects and has produced several youth projects on similar topics. He is well known in the field for his "The Party" presentation, which has been featured at state and national prevention conferences and community events. Terry is a prevention specialist and has served on the boards of numerous community- and youth-serving organizations. As an actor Terry has appeared in film, on television, in national advertising campaigns, and in industrial films and has worked on projects with Eric Estrada, Tyne Daly, and Michael Winslow. He was also a contestant on Wheel of Fortune! Born in Sacramento, California, Terry travelled extensively as an Air Force dependent. He holds a B.A. in Theatre with a minor in Business Management and is a certified national trainer. He also serves as the director of Youth Crime Watch of Florida.

 

Fred Sussenberger, Director of Administration/Finance

Frederick Sussenberger, Director of Administration/ Finance, a post he has held since 2005, has spent over thirty years in upper level management. A skilled administrator and manager with strong organizational knowledge, he is a strong communicator with many years of administrative training experience. He has spent several years as an analyst and troubleshooter for private industry. His experience included managing and consulting in administrative, organizational, production and personnel areas for a number of different industries and a large number of corporations. A significant portion of his experience is in budgeting, cost control and administrative training functions for those companies. He has been a corporate officer for several companies (including Executive Vice President), contributed extensively to trade organizations as a member of various committees, designed and ran national trade shows, and been an invited speaker to corporate, regional, national, and international trade meetings. He is a graduate of the University of Bridgeport (CT).

 

Samantha Dorn, Chief of Staff and Conference Coordinator

Samantha Dorn graduated summa cum laude from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC with a BA in History in May 2007. The summer after her junior year she worked as an intern in the YCWA DC office and served as a Youth Advisory Board member 2007-2008. After graduation, she volunteered in Lusaka, Zambia as the Project Manager for Youth Crime Watch of Zambia for one year and maintained a web log dedicated to her experiences there. In March 2008 she was inducted as a member of the Board of Directors. In October, however, she resigned her position on the Board to become the full-time YCWA Chief of Staff and Conference Coordinator in the Miami headquarters.

 

Leanne Brown, Operations Manager/Office Manager

Leanne Brown, Office Manager/Operations Manager, is YCWA’s front-office interface with YCWA’s sites, affiliates, and customers, as well as the responsible lead for shipping, equipment, and office needs. Mrs. Brown has served in office management, administrative support, customer service and response for law firms, the Burger King Corporation and Miami-Dade College. Her wide-ranging community service work includes work with the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, the PTA, United Commercial Travelers, and most significantly the Women of the Moose, for whom she received the highest honor possible in a local chapter. Mrs. Brown received YCWA’s 2008 Employee of the Year Award.
