Implementation Training

Purpose: To learn how to establish the YCW Program in school or community settings.

  • The Basics of Youth Crime Watch--How It Works, Why It Does
  • How Youth and Adults Can Work Together to Make the School and Community Safer
  • Roles in Establishing a YCW Program
  • Special Workshop on YCW Components (Customized for the Participants)
  • Steps, Partners, and Resources

Length: One or Two Days

Participants

  • School or Community Teams Consisting of Four to Six Youth, an Advisor and Administrator
  • School Resource or other Law Enforcement Officers
  • Educators
  • Community Leaders

Participant Assesment: At the end of a training, 84% of attendees stated that they know how to start a YCW program, are certain of what it takes, and have identified the first steps they will take.

Take-Home Materials: Implementation training participants will take home a free CD-ROM (a $50 value) containing all of the implementation materials needed to get started.

  • The ABC's booklet for establishing a Youth Crime Watch in your school
  • Electronic slide presentations you can use for promoting Youth Crime Watch in your local environment
  • Video clips for those slide and other presentations
  • Direct links to YCWA's web site for up-to-date information on our key components and other material
